The growing plastic pollution has posed a threat to the lives of the humans, wildlife & marine life. The chemical structure of most plastics renders them resistant to many natural processes of degradation and as a result they are slow to degrade/decompose. The introduction of the single-use or the disposable products even posed a greater threat to the Planet Earth, after the revolution against the plastic pollution, particularly against ‘Single-use’ or ‘Disposable’ the Planet is in the action to curb the plastic pollution.
Even though the paper plates and paper cups were introduced, but the thin layer of plastic coating and waxing on those products are still harming the humans.
Now, the Devadatta ECO Projects came with a solution to address the problem of ‘Single-use’ or ‘Disposable’ plastic. We are manufacturing the ‘Disposable Tableware’ products by bagasse which is a bi-product of the sugarcane. Bagasse is the natural fiber left after sugarcane is processed to produce sugar. These fibers are both strong & durable, but are 100% plant-based therefore compostable and biodegradable and beneficial to Mother Earth. The bagasse (sugarcane) is fully compostable and breaks down best in commercial compost facilities. In commercial composting conditions bagasse will decompose approximately in 45-60 days. The product will be a great innovation and will help in curbing the plastic pollution especially single-use or disposable, also the cost of the product is equal to the cost of present single-use or disposable plastic products.
